The UMLC was founded in 2005 fielding a high school club team with the hopes of one day getting Boys Lacrosse back into Upper Merion High School. The original founding members were Joe Shannon, John Harris, Bill Bullock and Les Crymes. In 2006, the UMLC recognized the need to create a feeder program, but, unlike most clubs in our area, it was decided to make the Upper Merion Lacrosse Club for both boys and girls. In 2006, the UMLC fielded teams from 5th - 12th grade and the following year, the club began programs for Kindergarten through 12th.
In April, 2007, after meeting with the School Board of the Upper Merion Area School District for over a year, the UMLC's President, John Harris, finally received the news the Club had worked so hard for....beginning in Spring, 2008 - there would be a Varsity and JV boys lacrosse program in the high school.... And in their 2nd season, the High School program made the Playoffs!
